Paint = Lots of Fun

Exercising her artistic side....

It's not over until she paints paint all over herself ;)

In deep thought of her new creation.

Swim Class

In my last post I mentioned how I enrolled Presley in swim classes and just wanted to share our experience. Obviously Presley is still really young to be swimming laps around the pool but the whole point to the swim class is to get her comfortable with being in the water. There are a few great things about this place, the water is heated in the pool so it's like getting into a giant bathtub, there are toys to keep the kiddos distracted about actually being in the water, and last but not least we (the parents) get to go inside the pool with them.
We meet the swim instructor and he has his exercises planned out for the kids. A lot of what he does has to do with getting kids used to have there ears inside the water and to not panic when it's time to float. This being Presley's first time she was very nervous about it. She clung onto me like a baby monkey and would not let go! She was not a fan of the swim instructor to say the least. When he would take her from me she about beat him up. Obviously you don't want to be "that parent" with "that kid" but under these circumstance I didn't blame her. I mean this is a strange man trying to grab me from my mommy and make me float in water?? while "talking loudly" and saying "No crying Presley!". I probably would of tried to beat him up too. I didn't let her behavior go undisciplined though...she knows that hitting is never okay (unless it was a big stranger trying to take her away..hmmm).
The class went on and she was very happy to finish up. When she got out of the pool she would say "All done mommy...I did it!" Even though she wasn't a big fan of it I need to continue to take her because I know eventually she will get better and more comfortable with it..well at least I hope so.

At least she looks super cute in her little bathing suit!

She also has her friend Brinkly to share this "painful" experience with...

Beach Time!

I'm loving that we're getting out of winter and falling right into spring time. That means it's time for the smell of sunblock, the feel of beach sand, and the look of beautiful spring dresses and accessories! Presley is at the age now where she does really well at the beach. She now knows the beach water is very cold and she stays away from it and she also understands that we play with the sand,and we don't eat the sand. Now that it's time for bathing suits and sand castles something that has been on my list of things to do is swim lessons. I think living in California swim lessons is like a life insurance. Presley starts her swim lessons this Friday and we're super excited to see how it goes. I'm sure she will be terrified and cry, heck knowing me I'll probably cry too but I know once she gets comfortable with it she's going to love it. It also helps greatly that we're doing it with good friends of ours and their daughter who is about the same age as Presley. I'll post an update once we get through our first class :)

Day at the Park

Presley really enjoyed feeding the ducks for her first time with me and her auntie Ritz. She would get so excited when the ducks came close to her, that I think she got confused thinking she was a duck too because she would start "quacking" at them. Who knew my daughter could speak duck?!
