Creative Activities

We recently went to the Mission Viejo Lake and got our passes to enter the lake as a member, so we could do some new fun activites with the girls. On this day we took the "party boat" out and had our own little party filled with cheese, crackers, and juice boxes! The girls had a blast taking turns stering the boat and watching the fish swim in the water

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Our yearly visits to the pumpkin patch are getting better. Don't get me wrong, of course it was fun taking them since they were both babies but the fun is different. For example, Presley really, I mean really looks forward to getting her face painted and riding the ponies. She will talk about it for weeks. Kinley is still really young where she can't be like Presley and be thrilled about what to expect but she enjoys all the new things around her. Not only was this year super specail because the girls are getting older but also because Wade was able to join us. Wade has always had to work anytime we were able to go, and for him to be here this time and to share with me my joy in taking them was great.

The Grim Reaper (AKA Stomach Flu)

It never fails, every year I get the stomach flu and there is nothing I can do about it! This last one was the worst I've ever had, I was down for four days straight. I thought at one point there was no way I was going to make it out alive because I was going to dehydrate myself to death. Fortunately I made it through, yay me!

Being sick left a lot of responsibility to my husband Wade to take care of the girls, along with things around the house. His efforts were amazing and he definitely took his role in his vows the day we got married "in sickness and in health" very seriously. Although watching him feed our girls worried me. Our girls have recently been eating Gluten Free foods due to certain allergies they have experienced, and I couldn't help but notice that my husband was feeding them Chicken Nuggets (breaded and frozen processed ones) with fries (also frozen ones)along with sandwiches and cinnamon roll bites day in and day out. As I was to sick to even speak and watched in horror I couldn't help but think, "omg! if I were to die what would he do?!"
I know he did the best he can, and he was totally out of his element that whole week. He doesn't know the things I have to do in order to keep things running around here, nor do I expect him too because truth is if you stuck me at his job I'd probably crap my pants. So surely but slowly I'm trying to teach him and he will be great no matter what!

Kinley was acting the part of being sick along with me. She didn't leave my side once. Such a mamas girl! Take note of the cracker she has..it was a cracker I couldn't even eat so she helped me out ;)

Disneyland

Wade and I have always had Disneyland season passes, even before we had kids we had them. So of course now having kids we still continue to renew our passes each year except for the fact it's getting a little pricey now that Presley is 3, but that's inevitable because kids are expensive anyway so what the heck, right?! We love Disneyland as much as the next kid, and sharing these memories with our girls makes it even better.

Let's be honest here, unless your willing to pay $30 for your kid to eat lunch and meet the princesses privately, getting to meet them outside in the public park is almost impossible. This day was special because we just so happen to be standing in the right place at the right time because both Snowhite and Cinderella came out and Presley was the first in line for both! We probably should have gone and bought a lotto ticket that day. Oh well.

I'm back and not sure where to begin.....

I've been one busy wife and mom for last month or so and now that things are starting to settle down I feel the need to blog again. Through events, birthday parties, pre-school, and stomach flu season my life has been chaotic. I can't wait to share all the things we've been up to and the new life changes we've been making! Be ready because my first official blog starts now...

First, a while ago I wrote about donating blood to a little girl named Ruby and I talked about how I had the opportunity in meeting her mother Ani that same day. Ever since meeting Ani, I felt we had a good connection, as if we had been friends for a long time (sounds weird, I know) but until you have actually experienced that, it's the strangest but most gifted thing to have felt.
Unfortunately their daughter Ruby passed away from this earth to be at home with the Lord. Ruby in her short time being here had touched the lives of thousands around the world, a true work of an angel if you ask me. I wanted to help them in some way; I wanted to be there for Ani and her family because I was also one of those thousands of people who were touched by Ruby and her story. When Ani told me about this foundation which is to promote organ donation awareness and enact legislation to enable parents to make easier decisions about organ donation for themselves and their family, right there and then I knew what I had to do. I asked my friend Brooke, Ani's cousin if she would help me put on this event to raise money for the new foundation, and being the sweet heart that she is, she said yes. We together and the help of everyone who was touched by Ruby were able to make this a successful event in raising money for the new foundation. I believe $8,480.00 was the exact amount that the Ruby Jane Foundation received. We hosted the event on October, 23 2011 and it consisted of a silent auction, raffle, music, great food, and a local vendor. 100% of the proceeds went straight to the foundation. It's amazing the way people came together through a time of tragedy to help a family who is experiencing the worst possible pain anyone should ever have to endure. The night was a success but most importantly we brought laughter and smiles to Ruby's family which was the most priceless thing I could have asked for. It was an honor to have done this for them.
