Thanksgiving 2009
This year we had the privilege of tasting a fried turkey! Jake did a wonderful job making it and did it without burning our house down :) Everyone brought a great dish or a tasty beverage to complete our Thanksgiving feast. I love the holidays when there is great food and fantastic company. We love our families & friends.
P.S I even got to wear my cute apron, finally! It made me feel so domestic ;)

Dr. Mom
This last week has been a little hard because Presley has been sick. It's bad enough when she's sick, but just add Wade & I into that equation and it equals disaster. Obviously Presley's health is priority over ours. Wade and I were both ill, but we were both up pulling all nighters with her to make sure that her fever was tamed, that she was comfortable (even if that meant holding her on my chest all night), and making sure she was breathing okay. Having a sick baby is a little scary but you mostly feel sad because they can't tell you what hurts or what they need. This is when your instincts as a parent really have to kick into full gear. I'm not a fan of over the counter medicines because you just don't really know what's in them. Let alone you can't even pronounce the ingredients. So how am I as a parent supposed to feel comfortable giving my baby something I don't know much about? I started to educate myself on homeopathic medicine and felt comfortable trying it.
We just bought a humidifier with a medicine tray attached to it. We put it into Presley's room since she has a harder time sleeping while being sick. In the medicine tray I put 100% natural Rosemary oil. The scent from the Rosemary is gentle enough but yet strong enough to open the airways that is blocked by all the mucus. I read that rosemary is best for babies due to it's gentle scent. For adults I read that you can use eucalyptus oil. Of course before trying any of these always make sure with your doctor & pediatrician. Ever since I've used this, Presley has slept through the night again and waking up a happy baby. Nothing makes me feel better than to see her feeling better :)

Slides & Butterflies!

This was taken at the park when Presley and I were going down the "big kid" slide. I'm not even kidding when I say this slide was so steep that it even gave me butterflies when I went down it. Presley being the dare devil that she is, had to come along for the ride and as you can see on the expression on her face that the butterflies visited her tummy too! After she went down once, she had to go on it again about 100 times after that. At least we know that Wade has his roller coaster buddy in the works :)

To my Presley,

Presley, you are growing so much everyday but in my eyes every second. I'm so honored to be your mother. I love watching and experiencing all the new things your doing. I see your personality and a glimpse of the type of person you may become. You are sweet, playful, smart, stubborn (cough, cough like your dad), your smile can stop anyone dead in their tracks and instantly warm their hearts. You are a person of character and you can make anyone laugh. I'm so proud to have you as my daughter.
Every night when I go to bed I miss you, even though your right in the room next to me. When I get up in the morning it's your smiling face that greets me peaking over your crib with the most sweetest voice saying "H-h-h-i, Mommy" that makes me want the night to end quickly so I can get to you. When you nap I will sometimes sit in the chair next to your crib and admire you. There is nothing more soothing than listening to your breathing while you sleep. I love that when music comes on you run to me and grab my hands to dance with you. I love how when I change your diapers you say "ewww" hahaha. I giggle when you sit on your potty and wipe as if you actually went to the bathroom. I see an angel when you sit quietly in your room and look at books and glimpse at me with a smile. I love when I sit next to you, you insist on sitting on my lap or climbing on my back. I die every time you come and hug me as you say "awww" and give me the biggest kiss. I could go on and on about all the things I love about you Presley.
I just want you to know that I'm so lucky to have you. It's because of you that I am who I am today. I live for you and will cherish every moment with you because you are my life. I love you so much baby, and without you I'm nothing. You are my everything and I will do whatever it takes to protect you. Keep that beautiful smile of yours because you have a special gift to make people want to always smile back. Hugs and Kisses
Love, Mommy

Play House Disney
For those of you with small children, if you haven't seen or heard of the play house Disney show at California Adventure (Disneyland) you are missing out! We took Presley there for her first time and she loved it! They had puppets come out of My friends Tigger and Pooh, Little Einsteins, Handy Manny, and of course Mickey Mouse Club House. It was a really cute show and very child friendly. If you needed to get up and leave that's not a problem. We were lucky enough that Presley enjoyed herself so much as you will see in the pictures below! Once the show is over you could walk around the park and have a great family day.

Tinker Bell Halloween 09
This Halloween was a huge success! Last year we pushed Presley around in a stroller and this year she was running with her cousins and knocking on doors trick-or-treating. We all thought that she would only make it to a few houses and be over it, but instead she kept up with all her boy cousins and worked her little butt off. My little tinker bell was having the best time and I just loved seeing that huge beautiful smile on her face as she ran to the next house.
