Presley is now three years old, and on this day, I had to let her in on a little passion of mine. It's something that touches very deep into my heart. Some of you may think she's a little young, or that she may not understand the concept, and for that; you're entitled to your own opinion. I will expose both my children to the great things life has to offer; but also show them things that are hard to see and why things happen that can never be explained.
As I told her in "toddler language" about children who are very sick, I used words such as "pokies", "boo-boo's", "sad"(you get the point) to explain how there are children out there who are very ill and need someone to pray for them, or someone to help bring a smile to their face, and who need our help to help them. I wasn't sure if her little spongy mind was processing this, so I asked her to help me make cards for these sick kids because if they are sad, maybe reading this card will make them smile even for just a second.
As we sat making cards, it was silent. If you know Presley, you would know the only time she is silent is when she's sleeping but this silence was different, almost like she was thinking. As she was hand printing all the cards she looked up at me and said...
"Mommy, I make cards for kids who get lots of pokies and who are sad?"
I said... "yes baby that's who you are making these cards for"
then as another silence period occurred she then said "I make them happy mom, I no want them to be sad."
At that moment...I knew my job as a mother to teach her compassion is on the right track. Proud mom over here!!!

Dried, addressed, and stamped! They are ready to go and make a smile :)
