She's loving it!

As her Papa says "2030 Olympic Champion" hahaha. Well we won't get ahead of ourselves but she's enjoying her swim lessons now. Just the smile on her face will tell you how much she is loving it. Thank goodness!

Walking for Babies 2010

It was a beautiful morning in Newport Beach, the crisp moist air gently touching our faces, people walking among their friends wearing their creative team shirts, and listening to families talk about a child they are walking in memory of or in honor of. There was definitely something special in the air and that is why I love doing that walk. You feel different, you watch peoples faces, some are happy and some seem sad. You sit and wonder the stories of the people who are there? You think who and why are they here? As I sit and people watch, I think to myself how fortunate I am to have given birth to a healthy little girl. Sometimes I feel guilty being there because I haven't experienced a loss or been a parent to witness the scary moments of having your baby in the NI CU. Then I realize I'm here because I do care and feel for the parents and families that have gone through this. I'm here to support them in anyway I can. I do it from my heart because being a mother I couldn't imagine the pain that these parents have gone through. I walk to honor the mothers, fathers, children and families.

Twin Day

I can't wait until Presley is older and I can show her this picture. She will probably think that Wade and I are "such dorks", and she may even be embarrassed but how I love these little memories. Too cute!

They did it!

This is an update on Presley’s swim lessons. As most of you know she had a hard time the first few times in the pool. I'm sure it was a mix of being in a new environment like the pool, and having a really intimidating swim instructor. As my friend Katelyn and I continued to take our girls to these lessons we decided maybe it would be best to switch swim instructors and go at a later time. We realized there was a real problem when every time she would pull out her daughter’s bathing suit from the dresser she would automatically start crying and every time I pulled into the parking lot in the facility Presley would start screaming "no swim". What were we to do? Well we were "those" moms. All the difference came with one simple phone call asking to switch classes. Katelyn and I had no idea what to expect from this switch. We weren't sure if it would even make a difference and the fact that we didn't even know if this new swim instructor was going to be any different from the first. Anyway, we gave it a shot and to our surprise it made a world of a difference! Both our girls did so much better. The new swim instructor took a completely different approach with them and they instantly changed their vibe. To say the least now Katelyn and I can enjoy going to swim class with our girls and not feel guilty about torturing them anymore. Moral of the story is if our kid doesn't take to you quickly it's probably because you’re a big cage fighter with a bald head and have no boundaries when it comes to their sensitivities haha.

It's a.....

With the advanced technology today, it makes it nearly impossible for us to want the gender to be a "surpirse" at birth. With that being said, we are very thrilled to announce that we are having....another Girl! Little peanut decided that waiting was not an option and flashed the screen for all to see. Now next step is agreeing on her name. I think I may win the battle unless we end up tossing a coin to see who wins.

Easter 2010

Needless to say this is the first Easter basket that I've ever made! It feels so special that I made it for Presley. I know this is her second Easter but she was so small last year that I couldn't give her candy and I didn't know what she liked for toys. Last year Presley only wanted to play with pots, pans, and spoons. I was really excited to make her a little basket. When I was in the process of being "creative" I couldn't help but think about the many more years that were going to have together forming and sharing these family traditions. I can't wait till our family is complete and we can share these special times with both our children (yes peanut, I know you're not here yet but mommy is always thinking about you). Here is a picture of my work it's no master piece but I think it's a good start to many more years to come. Cheers!

**Inside the basket I filled it with a bunch of delicious candy...a tinker bell backpack...some fun lollipops..and last but not least a sandal filled with jelly beans:)**
